12 Stepper Winter Issue Available
We have received notification that the Winter issue of the 12 Stepper, the service and recovery magazine for Northern California Al-Anon is available. This issue is electronic only.
The Table of Contents has been reformatted to provide more information about articles.
The standard section “Good to Know” on page 4 informs you of Service and Speaker meetings in various districts, how to subscribe to the 12 Stepper, donate to NCWSA, and a map showing Northern California districts. “Al-Anon Principles” on page 13 is a handy one word reference to all of our legacies and more! For fun with a polar bear see “NCWSA Panels and Years” on page 14.
“Features” on page 15 contains articles from members on their service and program experience, including a couple of poems. You can also read about Concept 9 and the history of District 5. The Forum article is “Exercising Patience” on page 18. “The Flip Side of the Steps” on page 19 offers another look at aspects of the Steps.
The section “Assembly” on page 20 tells you about the motions passed, the 2026 budget, and Assembly evaluations.
Our Delegate, Officers and Coordinators have provided “Reports” on page 54 on their activities.
“Thought Forces” on page 84 reports on the Dual Members Service policy thought force.
Finally, “Flyers” on page 86 updates you on future activities.

Volunteers Needed: District 14 Service Position @ March 2026 Convention
The March 2026 Convention to be held March 6, 7, and 8, 2026 at Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Dr., Roseville, CA. The Convention is an event for recovery and fun and fellowship.
District 14 has been selected to Coordinate the Literature Table at March 2026 Convention. Somebody has already volunteered to take the books and other literature to the event, but we need someone to arrange shifts to be at the table to sell the literature, so D14 needs a Coordinator.
We’re also looking for people to sit at the table, interact with fellow Al-Anons and exchange money for literature. Shifts are usually 2-3 hours and not during main speaker sessions. If interested, contact your Group Representative or the DR: https://al-anoncontracosta.org/district-representative-contact-form/
Guidelines for Coordinator
VIII. Convention Literature Chair
A. Pre-Convention
- Arrange for a local LDC (our Literature Depot) to handle literature. Ideally a rep from the LDC serves as lit chair on the convention committee.
- Arrange for 2-3 tables at the Convention site with the Facilities coordinator.
- Confirm date and time of arrival of the LDC. Only WSO approved literature will be
displayed and maintained at the Literature Table. - Twelve Stepper and Forum subscriptions are to be encouraged. Literature order
forms should be on hand.
B. During Convention
- Ask the LDC to Keep notes on the positive things that happened as well as the
problems that occurred, how they were solved and share or have someone share
them at the Sunday Turnover Meeting.
C. Continuous
- Have open and frequent communication with NCWSA Chair.
*Find volunteers to be at the tables to sell Literature. 2-3 hour shifts*
