How you can help
Al-Anon Family Groups, which include Alateen, has been in existence for over 60 years as a community resource providing support to those affected by someone else’s drinking. Today, there are more than 26,000 Al-Anon and Alateen groups meeting in 115 countries. Our meetings are anonymous and confidential. There are no dues or fees for membership.
Our Membership Survey results show that more than 1 in 4 members first heard about Al-Anon from professionals such as counselors, therapists and social workers. Al-Anon and Alateen meetings are compatible with all types of counseling and medical treatment.
Most meetings in District 14 (Contra Costa County) and most electronic meetings found at al-anon.org are open to observers as well as to families and friends of alcoholics.
